I owned every experience decision on the platform that replaced Salesforce, from inception through the full migration.
The contract went from $1.3M a year to $0. The case study covers how we did it, including the sync decision we had to undo.
Read the case study →On that platform, subject matter experts build their own apps.
More than 15 builder apps are creating real value today. In its first year, the program displaced $750K in vendor spend, validated by finance.
What I've learned is that letting everyone build only pays off when the platform holds the critical systems. With sign-in, data, and review in one place, people can build what they need at the edges without sprawl. I've written up the model in the Builder Framework.
Before Matthews, I co-invented Analysis Workspace, the main analysis interface in Adobe Analytics, and I'm on its patent.

This site is where I write up what we've learned, for leaders whose teams are building their own software with AI. I've taught workshops, including at Front. The topics I most want to speak on are builder programs, architectural approaches to design, and centralized experience governance.
I live on Utah's Wasatch Front with my wife, four kids, and two dogs, and I get out on my mountain bike more often than I get to the woodshop.
